"Pink Saturday" Benefit Hosted by Shelly B

February seems to be full of so many events for the RDU area of North Carolina. That's a good thing, it shows that we're working around here! It's hard choosing which events that I want to attend, but the "Pink Saturday" Benefit Concert at Solomons (located at 7333 Six Forks Rd) in Raleigh on February 25th, is one I will be in attendance for. Since Cancer has hit the female's in my family pretty hard over the years, it won't just be about the music for me at this one.

My mother is a  cancer survivor (Uterine cancer at age 31 and diagnosed with CLL, a type of Leukemia in 1999) and most recently, my older sister, age 40, is in remission from Breast Cancer. So, I encourage everyone, if you have a mother, sister, gramma, cousin, daughter...anyone that has had to fight the battle...Come out and support!! Proceeds will go to The American Cancer Society and donations and toiletry items will be accepted for the Women That Care Program (a program started by Myra Bradley that provides coats, blankets and basic toiletry items to the homeless).

Hosted by the NC's Queen of Hip Hop, Shelly B, and performances by some of the best female artists around here (Ashley Mar Shell, AnnMarie Fox, Nakia Latrelle, Alexis Jones & Amanda Pollard) it's definitely a night you don't want to miss!
