Armed With Mics...It's Fallen Anghellz!!

Fallen Anghellz is undoubtedly one of the most electrifying new duos on the North Carolina Hip-Hop scene. Consisting of MC/Producer Apostle A.P. and MC/Vocalist Seven Da Pantha. The group released their debut, Lost Testaments Vol. 1: The Passion…The Truth on December 13, 2011. Spearheaded by the production of A.P., the album is an affirmation of the beautiful noise the East Coast has been experiencing over the last year as the Anghellz’ live performances brought down the house in numerous venues.

After initially meeting by way of battling one another on the Triad’s only Hip-Hop station 102 Jamz, the two MCs began to cross paths regularly. It was the mutual respect for each other’s grind and talent that led them to record several records together that laid the foundation for what would become "Fallen Anghellz". By joining forces they created an element very nostalgic yet unfamiliar to the casual Hip-Hop fan, and that is the biggest part of their appeal. Some would assume that in order to make such a union work, people have to be very much alike. In this case, they couldn’t be more wrong.

Apostle A.P. was born Anthony Adams in Camden, New Jersey on March 25, 1982. Despite being exposed to what is statistically considered the worst city in the country today, he was gifted intellectually, attending honors classes from elementary through middle school. Now don't get it misconstrued; "Tony" was never an angel. As a matter of fact, he had a hell of a temper control issue which kept him in fights and other mischievous situations. He had a love for basketball and played in various street leagues in the city. At the age of 15, he unexpectedly relocated to Winston-Salem, NC, the place of his father's origin. His love for literary works kicked in and became his new mission in life. Years prior to moving, his older cousin, "Sizahanz", had embraced his love for hip-hop and often suggested that he hop in ciphers in the hood, but intimidated by his cousins talent he didn't think he was good enough. Sizahanz kept AP up on the newest underground mixtape flavors, which ultimately influenced the mc he is today. Destined for money and not wanting to be in the street as he was up north, he dropped his hoop dreams and took his art form seriously. He created Soundchamba Productions to give his music a home, and started making his own beats in 2000, which led him to his first beat battle victory at Dirty South Beat Down 10 in Greensboro this past December. He has released two stellar solo albums, 2009’s Anga Management and 2010’s Dark Thoughts of a Bright Mind. The anger and frustration of his impoverished childhood mixed with his near-fatal burning in February of 2011 have given an uncontrollable fuel to A.P.’s lyrical and sonic fire. So if he sounds mad at the world…it’s because he is.

Seven Da Pantha is a bit more of a mystery. Only those closest to him know where he’s from, but it's well known he is the son of former Black Panthers. He got his stripes battling all over the East Coast, but prior to taking his art seriously enough to call it a career, Da Pantha had his eyes and heart set on the NFL. After receiving a scholarship to play WR for Winston-Salem State University, he became so engulfed in the city’s Hip-Hop scene he quit football and school to follow his newly realized dream. Things took off quickly when he joined a local outfit called The Nobodies. A one weekend opportunity for Seven to play hype man for KRS-One turned into the group (which also featured ScP/OOG cohort Equinox) touring with the legend for over a year. The Nobodies also performed consistently with The Roots, Queen Latifah, De La Soul and others. Sadly, shortly after the group’s first video “It’s Hip-Hop” aired on BET, things went sour and they disbanded. Not to be denied, Seven has dropped a slew of mixtapes, accompanied by two EPs and two full-length albums, most notably 2010’s critically-acclaimed Born Wit’ Less. Seven wears his militant lineage like a badge of honor, so if he sounds like he’s mad at the system…it’s because he is.

Fallen Anghellz are currently performing regularly to promote the album Lost Testaments and prepare the people for the next solo offering by each artist. Up next, A.P.’s relationship concept album Break Ups to Make Ups and Seven’s latest one finger salute to capitalism and fake MCs Halo-Graphik. After that, be prepared for Lost Testaments Vol. 2: The Craft. With collaborations on deck with some of NC’s hottest artists, it won’t be long before the whole Hip-Hop nation is flying with the Anghellz.
