KSlack...In & Out Of North Carolina

Since the mid 90's Keith Slack (KSlack) has been making an impression in the music scene in and out of North Carolina with his Productions (influenced by Khrysis, Ski Beatz and 9th Wonder) and his lyrical flow. The motivation behind him was to find a way to blend East Coast, West Coast and Southern sounds that would appeal to the masses among Hip Hop fans. As a member of TheThyrDay group, bred in Durham, NC, he was able to show off his skills on both levels, as a Producer and an Emcee. That allowed him to really cultivate his love for Hip Hop music.

Since I've been working with my artists in North Carolina and interacting in the scene, I'm being filled in on it's history and who started their grind within our state. KSlack began his career here but has continued on to build a respected resume that reaches far beyond our borders. He has opened shows for Masta Ace, KRS One, Little Brother and Ludacris. His Production credits include work with NC artists Kaze, K-Hill, Jozeemo, Shelly B, JGunn, JBully and others. While his work with major artists include Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck,  CampLo, MIMs and more.

KSlack's most recent project was shared with me this week and I couldn't stop listening to it. I've replayed it several times since. Entirely produced by, recorded and written by himself, "H.I." performed by Rapbi Ben Isreal is among my new collection of favorite music. Listen for yourself...
